Swindens Patents Ltd. is established with

Claude Swinden as managing director.

Swindens' unique revolving head technology becomes the standard work-holding tool of the UK armed forces.

Swindens is integral to the war effort in the manufacture of aircraft, ships and vehicles.

Swindens are widely used in the automotive, shipping and aviation industries.

As North Sea oil and gas come on stream Swindens becomes standard equipment for offshore contractors.

Swindens are widely used in dockyards, railway

maintenance, farming, jewellery making, by gunsmiths and in the workshops of The Queen’s Sandringham Estate.

Swindens is one of the Army tools of choice for Challenger Tank and Warrior vehicle repair in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Under Managing Director Anthony Marangos, grandson of Claude Swinden, production of 4, 6 and 8 inch Swindens is expanded for the UK and international markets.

Contracts are secured with UK MOD, Jaguar Land-Rover and Harker Hydraulics. Agency agreements are confirmed with Poland and Saudi Arabia.
